Kynar refers to PVDF (polyvinylidene fluoride) insulation, which offers outstanding resistance to chemicals, abrasion, and radiation compared to PVC or XLPE, making it the preferred choice for cabling in corrosive chemical, oil, and gas plant environments.
Irradiated Kynar cable undergoes electron-beam cross-linking after extrusion, which raises its temperature rating (up to 230°C) and improves mechanical and chemical resistance compared to standard (non-irradiated) Kynar cable rated up to 150°C.
